Purpose
Simpl-Open enables secure and interoperable participation in data spaces. It manages identities, credentials (currently x509 certificates, VCs in future release), and attestations, supports one or more data planes, and is fully compliant with the Dataspace Protocol (DSP). The agent provides a standards-based control plane for publishing, querying, and negotiating data and service offerings, and interoperates with open, protocol-based data planes for incoming and outgoing data exchange. It allows participants to describe data products and services, including access methods, quality information, policies, constraints, and usage rules, with built-in validation against common data models. The Participant Agent enforces access and usage policies, supports contract negotiation based on policy and trust requirements, and ensures traceability, logging, and authorization control throughout cataloging, negotiation, and data transfer processes.
