Purpose
Simpl-Open provides a standards-based foundation for trust in data spaces. They issue and verify data space membership credentials and other attestations using open, non-proprietary standards (currently x509 certificates, W3C Verifiable Credentials as part of a future release). Simpl-Open allow to validate compliance with the Data Space Rulebook, and support credential verification using standard protocols (that will be aligned with eIDAS in a future release). They ensure secure handling of provenance and traceability data, protect against unauthorized access and tampering, and enable participants to express and enforce data access and usage policies consistently across the data space.
