Purpose
Simpl-Open supports the use of standardised vocabularies and ontologies such as DCAT, OWL, and SKOS to define resources consistently. It provides mechanisms for syntax and semantic validation , ensuring that shared data is both structurally correct and meaningfully interpretable across different systems. Additionally, Simpl-Open offers frameworks for federating semantics (vocabularies and schemas) between data spaces, promoting a common understanding of data. Furthermore, Simpl-Open leverages standards like ODRL for policy definition, ensuring that data sharing agreements are machine-readable and enforceable to control access and usage of the data.
